  Giant ship vs Noah's Ark

  take a look at this giant ship that's been built and imagine if would still be large enough to house all the animals on the planet for an extended period of time.. the ship, with modern materials and tools, would take a single person nearly 8,000 years to complete.

  how many more people designed it and supplied the materials?

  imagine how many trees would be required and how long it would take to transport them alone.. still think noah's ark is feasible?.

  Ferguson is a shame. Race baiting, and arguements over what boils down to a cultural lack of empathy for their fellow human beings.

  the cop was scarred of a big young black kid and panicked. He wasn't just following his training. he was scarred, and should not have been, not will be again...a cop.

  the kid was not a little angel ready to go off to college. He just robbed a store, and attacked a cop.

  A few hundred people riot and loot and burn their own community to get free stuff. Not for any other reason.

  The media latches onto it because it makes good TV, everyone picks a side (both sides are the wrong side), and JW's lament "this old world".

  I'm sure this will repeat itself several times over.

  That exchange quoted earlier could not have been more hilarious. Thanks for sharing it.

  The letter quoted by island man is appauling. Sure hes a murderer.....but its up to his conscience not the elders to turn him in.

  I love how all of a sudden the conscience takes such precidence.

  Anyone know who counsel was for the WTS in this case? I know personally the local lawyers in San Diego that are used by them. I'm curious.

  A friend of mine is getting disfellowshipped. Someone with a kind heart, and good rep. He knows how I feel, remains my firend, and we have respectful conversation. Without revealing too much, lets just say the reason he is being disfellowshipped is for family problems. But I know these people intimately. Its something crazy to be DF'd for. Take my word for it.

  He and his wife have been separated for a while. (He was an elder and stepped down on his own because he felt he wasn't presiding over his houshold in a fine manner). Yep......that type of guy. When he was telling me, he was mentioning how everyone would assume he cheated on his wife, which hurt him because he really loves her and has tried to deal with her etc....

  It reminded me of something I saw as a kid.

  A man in the hall was announced as disfellowshipped at the local announcements as was typical at the time.

  He ran up on stage and turned around to everyone and said loudly....."It was just for one cigarrette!!!"

  Then he stepped down and walked out. It wasn't my hall, I never know what happened to him. It remeinded me that part of the discipline seems to be humiliation. Assasination of character. At the time I thought it was inappropriate. Later i thought it was funny. Now I think it was courageous.

  Anyone go out with a bang that you know?
